1761 – Arena Group’s history dates as far back at 1761 with a company set up by Sir Richard Edgington to manufacture and sell tents, flags, ship ropes, and decorations for public events
2000-2007 – Under the ownership of Condover, the business becomes the premier temporary seating and structures business in the UK
2007 – Greg Lawless and Dermott Divilly buy Arena Structures and Arena Seating to form Arena Group
2010 – Growth continues with the company’s first overseas base with 45 % investment in Harlequin Marquees in Dubai, UAE
December 2011 – Arena Group complete the acquisition of remaining 55% of Harlequin in Dubai
February 2012 – MML Partners and Sports Investment Partners (SIP) took a significant stake in the Group, injecting additional equity, to feed future growth. This investment provided the Group with the necessary financial resources to deliver over £30 million of products and services for the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games
June 2012 – Arena Group provides seating and structures for multiple events during the London Summer Olympics
April 2013 – Acquisition of Karl’s Events – the Group’s first step in the USA
May 2013 – Acquisition of Asia Tents – The Group’s first permanent base in Malaysia
August 2016 – Acquisition of 51% of Ironmonger Marquees in Hong Kong
2016 – Acquisition of RIM Scaffolding – a premier provider of event scaffolding in the UK and Asia
April 2017 – Acquisition of the seating and mass participation divisions of Wernick Events
July 2017 – Arena Group is listed on AIM on the London Stock Exchange, raising £60 million for future growth and expansion
February 2018 – Arena Group acquires specialist furniture hire business GLD Productions Ltd, expanding the furniture capabilities of the Group’s UK division, and adding some prestigious events to its roster
May 2018 – Acquisition of Ice House Rentals Ltd expands Arena UK & Europe’s capabilities into specialist cold room
June 2018 – Arena Group acquires specialist barrier and fencing company Events Solution Ltd.
January 2019– We announce that we have won a Tokyo Olympics 2020 seating contract and a temporary hospitality structure contract for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Tokyo
June 2020 - Arena UK & Europe division merge with the Middle East & Asia division.
