Head of Operations

Riyadh, KSA Full Time, Permanent

Job Objective:

The overall objective of this position is to provide hands-on leadership to the KSA operations, productions and projects departments including structures, scaffolding, MEP, carpentry, tailoring, furniture, and projects.

Reporting to the GM this role will be key to the success of KSA business and is part of the in-country leadership team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and direct the operations, production, and projects departments in KSA.
  • Design and develop the strategy for the delivery of the function.
  • Manage & oversee the entire project cycle in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Creative departments to deliver quality products and services to clients in line with the proposals.
  • Manage day-to-day affairs of the operations and the production departments.
  • Work with the structural engineering/ design departments and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Ensure quality, health and safety and best practices are implemented and maintained across all areas of delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement processes to improve margins or efficiency in the delivery of projects.
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings as required, to maintain key client relationships.



  • Lead and develop strong KSA operations and productions team.
  • Invest in team development, career, and succession planning.
  • Act as the ambassador for Arena values, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop org. structure to ensure efficient reporting structure and greater control.
  • Provide business reports as required by the region and the corporate.


P&L and Budget

  • Collaborate with other departments, the country, and regional stakeholders in the creation of the budget for the department.
  • Ensure the P&L and the budget for the department are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure the production CAPEX is in line with the budget.



  • Coordinate with the marketing, and the regional teams for pricing, sales, and business development opportunities.
  • Measure productivity of the business operations by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Identify and deliver operational strategies to realize efficiencies.
  • Execute the country’s business plan and contribute to the diversification of the business verticals.
  • Collaborate with the development of a regional procurement strategy to deliver margin improvements.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical, Market, and Industry Knowledge – thorough knowledge, and understanding of the challenges within the region across business verticals.
  • Leadership – ability to manage diverse, multicultural teams and effectively interact with various stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Community Relations and Networking – ability to effectively interact and build strong relationships with the local community, existing and potential clients, develop partnerships with individuals and organizations.
  • Communication skills – ability to communicate effectively and represent the company externally, impeccable presentation skills.
  • Strategic Orientation – ability to provide long-term strategy and vision for the future, big picture thinker.
  • Results Orientation – strong commercial acumen and ability to implement processes and systems, excellent organization skills.


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the events industry, out of which 5 years managing a team.
  • Experience in the middle east, preferably in the events industry.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of managing P&L responsibility for a business unit or department.
  • Ability to demonstrate a varied business background and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree would be preferable.
